Another year draws to a close. What has this one brought us? Very little to most. Kresley is still unwed though that will change soon. Asrien draws deeper in upon himself, knowing that he will be next. Dante continues to mourn a dragon long dead. The girls grow older and more beautiful. Faydra grows. Their mother watches.

And Lord Father's whims still rule the world upon with the rest of us tread.

As for myself...I have already written of it for the eyes of any who care.

I have been watching her, closely. She knows and knows that I know. But her motives are still a mystery. She has been punished severely for her supposed discretion: five lashes and she is on chamber pot duty indefinitely.

It is very quiet here, with Kres and Dante both gone. The older girls are now of an age when they are expected to become little ladies and so no longer play as rambunctiously as they once did. And Faydra has always been a very easy baby, who hardly cries at all.

It is nice...for now.

I spent today with the girls, all three of them. Lord Father has calmed somewhat but his temper still runs hot. It is still best to stay out of his way...and so I did. They were glad to spend the time together.

It is amazing how fast they have grown. Elenya is so near marriagable age...and Ireniel not far behind.

Faydra of course is still a baby...but ah, it will not last...

Lord Father is in a foul mood today. No one appears to know why. He had been quick to anger and prone to stormy silence. It is a great puzzle, though none dare approach him right now to put together any more pieces.

Kresley and Asrien plan to go flying today. They have tried to convince Dante to join them but he has still not recovered from the death of his dragon. It has been over a year yet still nothing. He has flown sporadically but refuses to find another permanent mount. Eventually even Kres will give up on him.

The girls have new dresses and they are pleased. Even Faydra received one. They look quite lovely. As does their mother.
